Every time I walk through the store, I see shelves packed with things that are expensive, chemical and preservative filled and that we could be making from home so easily. Pantry foods, cleaning products, beauty and so many of the things we buy out of habit are easy to make, but we have been told that store bought is best. Over the years, I’ve learned that making things at home is nowhere near as hard as I originally thought and now? Well, now it has become one of my favorite things to do.
This list of 68 things to stop buying and make instead is one of my favorite ways to stretch a dollar without feeling like I am missing out on the things I want or need. Even swapping out just a few of these items can put money back in your pocket each month. And once you get used to making them, you may find yourself wondering why you ever bought them in the first place.
