Now that Thanksgiving is over, the Christmas baking can start! This is my favorite time of the year and one reason for that is the baking. I absolutely love baking and making awesome treats for my family. It is a tradition that goes back well over 10 years for me and my family and one that we have all grown to love and appreciate. There’s one catch though. I’m lazy. I’ve admitted that I don’t know how many times and I’m not about to start ignoring it today. That means I really, really love easy recipes.

That’s where these homemade almond turtles come into play. They’re easy to make yet they taste amazing! They only have a few ingredients and they “whip up” really quickly! Turtles have been one of my favorite candies since I was a kid so it’s only natural that I would want to include them at Christmas!

Perfect for Christmas gift boxes or just as a special treat, these Homemade Almond Turtles candies are both delicious and easy to make!

If you like turtles, these will become a favorite of yours too and I am 100% sure of that! They’re super simple to make and yes, that is partially why I love them. In about 20 minutes, you can have an entire batch of these chilling in the fridge for the caramel and chocolate to set! They also make a great gift idea!

If you’re looking to give home baked goods as a gift for the holidays, make sure you include these! Just use a pretty holiday themed Ziploc container and fill it with awesome goodies! Once these are set they don’t have to be refrigerated, but keep in mind that since they are chocolate, they will melt.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Make sure that you spread the butter around the entire skillet to give it a good coating.

Add the almonds to the skillet and stir constantly until your almonds start to pop. Once they pop, put them onto a cutting board or plate to cool.

Melt your caramel and chocolate in separate microwaveable bowls for 2-3 minutes on 50% power making sure to stir every 30 seconds. You want them melted completely.

Once they’re cool, group about 3 or so almonds together on a piece of parchment paper. These will form the base of your candies.

Add about 1 teaspoon of melted caramel onto the top of your almonds.

Next, spoon about 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate onto your caramel.

Perfect for Christmas gift boxes or just as a special treat, these Homemade Almond Turtles candies are both delicious and easy to make!

Let your turtles sit for about 20 minutes to cool. You can help them harden by putting them in the fridge, but they will firm up just fine on the counter too. Once they’re hardened, enjoy!
