While my stress levels (and I’m sure yours too) were heavier this week, this week on the site felt a little lighter than usual. When things get heavy for me, sometimes things get pushed off and you know what? That’s okay. We still shared a couple of great recipes, a couple of frugal living posts (my favorite is the 68 things post below) and made it through the week in one piece.

Pumpkin Crepes with Sweet Cream Filling
These thin, tender crepes are filled with a rich cream cheese mixture and just the right touch of pumpkin spice. They’re cozy enough for fall mornings and pretty enough to serve at a holiday brunch.

68 Things I Stopped Buying and Make Instead
Over the years I’ve learned that making certain things myself saves money, reduces waste, and usually works better than store-bought. Here’s the full list of what I’ve stopped buying, along with how I make each one.

DIY Hair Detangler
Long or thick hair can be tough to manage, and detangling sprays from the store can take a big chunk out of your wallet pretty quickly. This simple homemade detangler only uses a few ingredients and keeps hair smooth without the cost.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup
A hearty, budget-friendly soup that cooks all day while you’re busy. Full of flavor, filling, and perfect for a no-stress dinner night.

52 Ways to Use Fels Naptha
This old-fashioned laundry bar is a frugal staple that’s been around for generations. It’s not just for laundry, either! Here are over 50 different ways I’ve found to put it to work around the house.
