Wooden spoon craft ideas are a pretty frugal (Six Dollar Family) craft to begin with, but you can make them even cheaper by purchasing your wooden spoons in bulk. The other supplies are great in bulk as well or can usually be found at your local Dollar Tree for cheap too.

This wooden spoon love bug is a simple DIY Valentine's Day Gift idea from kids! Wooden spoon crafts are so easy and adorable when they're finished!

You Will Need:

  • Wooden spoon
  • Pink craft paint
  • Large foam hearts
  • Small Foam Hearts
  • Black Fine tip marker
  • Hot glue and glue gun
  • Paint brush

To start, pain the wooden spoon with two coats of paint. Make sure to allow time in between each coat for the spoon to filly dry.

One the spoon is dry, take two large foam hearts to use as the wings. Using a dab of glue,secure them, point side down onto the back of the spoon.

Allow the glue to dry.

Next, use a fine point sharpie to draw the eyes onto your love bug. Then, use a small foam heart to create the mouth.

Finally, place two small hearts at the top of the spoon to create the antennae.

Allow all glued spots to dry and your wooden spoon craft is ready to be enjoyed!

Equipment

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Sticks
  • Fine Tip Marker

Ingredients

  • 1 Wooden Spoon
  • 2 Large Foam Hearts
  • 3 Small Foam Hearts
  • Pink Craft Paint

Instructions

  • Paint the wooden spoon with 2 coats of pink craft paint. Allow to dry fully between coats.
  • Use hot glue to secure 2 large foam hearts – points down – to the back of each spoon to create wings. Allow to dry fully.
  • Use 1 small heart to create the mouth and 2 small hearts to create the antennae. Allow glue to dry fully then draw eyes onto the wooden spoon craft with the marker.
