Mmmmm…..there’s one main reason that I adore Christmas cookies and candies. Peppermint! Eat all of the peppermint goodies!! This M&M and Peppermint Fudge recipe is one of my all time favorites and I’m 100% positive that it will be one of yours after you make it too! It’s chocolaty and minty with the addition of M&M’s candies which just makes it even better! Emma and I love to make it each Christmas along with our other candies and Christmas goodies and for us? It just doesn’t feel like Christmas if we don’t have it made!

Perfect for a Christmas baking session, this M&M and Peppermint Fudge Recipe is fantastic! It's so good you'll want to make it over and over again!

This peppermint fudge recipe might seem hard to make, but trust me when I tell you that it isn’t. In fact, it’s quite easy to make. One of my favorite things to do with this recipe is to package it together with my chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge and cherry cordial fudge recipes into a nice gift basket. It makes an awesome gift that works very well for any occasion!

M&M and Peppermint Fudge Recipe

To gift this, I usually use the holiday Ziploc containers if it’s for the holiday season. If its for something else, I buy a colored cellophane bag and use it to tie it up into a pretty present. I’ve never had anyone not like them because they look great and taste awesome too! This fudge recipe does require a candy thermometer so if you don’t have one, make sure you grab one before you start cooking it. Otherwise it will be extremely hard to tell when it is done and ready to be poured.

You will need:

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar small jar marshmallow fluff
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 1 cup mint M&Ms

To start, you’ll want to make this in a heavy bottom pan. To start, combine the butter, sugar, and evaporated milk. Cook on medium heat until temperature reaches soft ball stage (238 degrees) with a candy thermometer. Be sure you’re stirring often, at least every 30 seconds. I actually just stand there and stir because I don’t want it to scorch and it will do that very quickly.

While your mixture is cooking, line a 9 x 13 baking dish with foil or parchment paper. If you’re using foil, be sure that you give it a good spray down with cooking spray to keep the fudge from sticking.

When your mixture reaches soft boil stage, take it off the heat and immediately stir in the marshmallow fluff, peppermint extract and chocolate chips and give it a good stir. Once they’re mixed in well, quickly stir in the mint M&M’s. Be sure you do this with a quickness because as soon as you remove it from the heat, it will start to cook and harden. Once you’ve got the candies mixed in, pour the fudge into the foil lined baking dish.

Let your fudge cool completely then use the foil to lift it out of the pan. Cut it into small squares and enjoy! Store your M&M and Peppermint Fudge in an airtight container. There’s no need to refrigerate if you don’t want to. It will make the fudge a tad too hard if you do.
