It took me almost 10 years to be successful at earning money online so if you’re currently struggling to do so? I feel your pain. The thing is? It’s actually fairly easy to earn money online once you actually know how. How do I know that I’ve finally learned how? For 2016 to date, I have earned over $50,000 gross. For the first quarter of the year (the first 3 month’s in other words), I earned over $40,000 totally online. To break that down for you?

You can do it too. I do want to make something perfectly clear up front. I am not one of those bloggers who will sugar coat things and tell you that you can do this right as soon as you start. Sure, some of it you can start earning from day one, but others? It will take you time. I’d rather be honest with you than flat out lie to you in my post and have you hate this blog and me or not trust what I post because I lied to you. Simply put? I value you too much.
How I Earned $40,000 in 3 months working online

Because I don’t want people saying that the only way I earn is with this blog, I’m not starting there. Instead, we’ll start with the ones that you can earn from pretty much from day one and work our way down.
Earn money online with my $225.00/mo income system –
It might not seem like much, but the system I use to work on very specific survey sites each day pays off. It pays off to the tune of $225 or more each month. It takes less than 2 hours each day once you’ve gotten things down and you can pretty much guarantee on the $225 every month. It might be small potatoes compared to my main income, but every penny counts and $225/mo is nothing to sneeze at.
I earn money online from royalties from Six Dollar Family (the book) –
In May of 2015, I released my book, Six Dollar Family on Amazon Kindle. In January 2016, I updated the copy and also released it in paperback. As a result of both, I receive a steady royalty check each and every month. If you write well and have a few great ideas, there are quite a few Kindle publishing Udemy courses that you can take that will walk you through self-publishing successfully to create a steady income for yourself each month.
I earn money online because I am an Usborne Books consultant –
I’m not a huge fan of MLM’s, but Usborne Books made it impossible not to join. There aren’t any monthly fees, there are no monthly quotas and if you don’t sell? You don’t sell. Even their team building program isn’t truly an MLM since you can sign up all of the people you want underneath you but you won’t earn on them unless you work to promote yourself. In fact, the only cost you absolutely have to have is your start up cost when you sign up to be an Usborne Books consultant. Between their straight up and honest policies and the quality of Usborne Books? I couldn’t pass it up.
You might ask how it is possible to do a direct sales book business all online. I don’t hold in-person parties, I don’t do events and I don’t sell in real life. Everything that I do is either done through this blog, on Facebook or on Instagram.
I earn money online by consulting and managing Pinterest accounts –
Probably my second largest income stream is my consulting and Pinterest management business. Pinterest management alone earns me almost $2,000 each month. I suppose I could earn more with it but I’ve never seen a need to raise my prices too much simply because everyone else has. If you’re Pinterest or social media savvy, you might consider starting your own Pinterest management service? You’ll need to sign up for Tailwind and I also recommend using BoardBooster to manage your clients accounts. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram managers can also make a pretty penny each month as well so you’re not solely tied to earning from Pinterest.
If you’re interested in the consulting side of things, find a skill that you’re great at and beat the virtual pavement until you find a client or two. Consulting is a huge market so you only need to jump into the deep end of the pool to get started.
I earn money online by writing freelance –
Freelance writers can almost always find work from home. You only need to know where to look and have the ability to write well. Craigslist is a great place to find gigs and a quick Google search will bring a proverbial boat load of other places. I do caution you though that you need to charge what your time is worth. You will find that some clients will try to short change you. I keep my prices low for one reason. It does not take me too long to write a post or article for someone. I see no reason to charge $50, $60 or more for a post that took me thirty minutes to write.
Because I keep my prices reasonable and I deliver quality work, I almost never have an issue finding someone who needs writing done when I am looking for them.
I earn money online selling thrift store finds –
Just today I picked up several vintage books for $0.75 each. I will earn around $5.00 each making a profit of $4.25 per book. I also struck gold with a vintage lithograph that I paid $7.50 for. The minimum selling price for it? $200.00. Selling thrift store and yard sale finds is a fantastic way to make money online. I was already out at the thrift stores picking up shorts for my daughter and with a little bit of work online, I will make well over $250.00 because I was willing to spend $15.
I don’t personally do a lot of Ebay selling because there are so many other great Ebay alternatives. I will use them or I will save the items back for when I have my next yard sale. With that said, even as an Ebay seller you can make thousands per month if you learn the trade early on.
Finally, I earn money online by blogging –
Finally, yes, I blog. Being straight up honest with you, Six Dollar Family earns a minimum of $9,000 each month on its own. Are there bloggers who make more than me? Sure. Do I care that they make more than me? Not a bit. My family is taken care of, my readers know I’m honest and come back because of that. I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished in the last 5 years. That last one is pretty priceless by the way so I’m content with my $9-$10k/mo. Would I like to make more each month? I’m content. Not stupid. I wouldn’t turn it down.
Can you make just as much if you start your own blog?
Absolutely. With hard work.
I could sit here and tell you that I earn $9,000 or more each month blogging with no work. I could sit here and tell you that you too can do the same thing from day 1.
I’d be lying through my pearly whites if I did and anyone who does tell you that? Lying through their teeth too.
Blogging is great though and I do recommend it for anyone who wants to start their own. Just don’t expect to earn on it without putting in the time and work needed to do so. You can start a blog with Bluehost for only $3.95/mo and get a free domain name when you do. Once you’ve done that, I have a step-by-step tutorial that will walk you through how to start a blog on Bluehost to help you get started. Blogging can be very lucrative and it is one of the only work at home jobs that pays as well as blogging can.
As I said earlier, my point by telling you all of this is that you absolutely can earn a full time or even a better than full time income from home. It does take work and you won’t do it overnight for most of the ways to earn, but if you’re having budget trouble? There’s no better way to earn. It was these earning methods that helped to save our family finances when 2014 hit us like a tornado. These ways to earn along with lifestyle changes that were really and truly frugal (such as the 30 things we stopped buying and started making at home), saved my family two years ago. Now they are helping to build our future.
