I love to have a breakfast smoothie when I need a quick but nutritious breakfast and in this house? That’s quite often. Between trying to get the business day going for me and my Emma’s homeschool lessons going for the day, breakfast is one of those crazy, rushing time periods in our home usually. Luckily, my favorite smoothies, like this Pineapple Orange breakfast smoothie are easy to make, full of nutrition needed to start the day off right and taste amazing!

When you make this, I’m positive you’ll add it to your tried and true breakfast smoothie recipes file because this one is amazing. It’s the very first one that I ever tried and several years later, it’s still one of my favorites! My Emma loves it too so I’m calling this one kid friendly for sure! This is my favorite breakfast smoothie recipe second only to my peanut butter smoothie recipe. That one will never be replaced in my heart.
Breakfast Smoothie Recipes – Pineapple Orange Breakfast Smoothie
One of the things that I love about this one is that the banana that it has in it isn’t overpowering. While I love banana, I don’t like the flavor to be too strong. The banana in this is needed to provide potassium but the flavor is all pineapple and orange. In other words? You’ll bring a little bit of tropical to your morning! This recipe makes two 8 oz servings so it’s super simple to whip up for you and your partner or you and your child!
You Will Need:
- 8 ice cubes
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1/2 cup pineapple
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 banana
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
- 1 tsp flaxseed (optional)

If you’re using fresh pineapple, chop it into chunks to make it easier to blend. Add all of the ingredients to your blender and blend until you reach a smooth consistency. You’ll want to make sure that your blender is strong enough to crush the ice. We personally use the Ninja Professional Blender and absolutely love it! It crushes ice like it’s nothing! Once you’ve got a smooth consistency, pour into an 8 oz glass and enjoy chilled!

If you want to make this breakfast smoothie recipe even healthier, you can add a teaspoon of chia seeds and a teaspoon of flaxseed. Flaxseed has amazing health benefits and so do chia seeds. Blend them in with the rest of your ingredients and you’ll hardly notice they are there.
