Do you like to clean? I’ll confess; at times I love it but mostly I hate it. It is a necessary evil though so I do it. Just because I do it doesn’t mean I must spend a bunch of cash to get things sparkling. I actually refuse to spend as much as others on it; especially knowing I can clean my entire home for around $10.00 a week. I get as many free (and natural!) cleaning supplies as possible and I use homemade cleaners with essential oils for what I can’t get free. In fact, if you were to look in my cleaning closet, you would pretty much only see homemade cleaners.
Did you know the average American family spends approx. $500 a year on cleaning supplies? Now, I’m not sure how you feel about that, but to me that just seems to be an excessive amount. As if that huge waste of money wasn’t enough; the average household has at least 62 toxins in it. If I had to wager a guess, I’d be willing to bet the majority of those toxins are found in their cleaning supplies.
Best Homemade Cleaners with Essential Oils
It wasn’t always natural for me to do my cleaning with essential oils. In fact, I used to grab whatever. The change happened in 2015 when my family and I started a list of things we could stop buying and start making. Since cleaning and beauty products were the products we used the most, those were where we started.
Cleaning with Essential Oils
When I created the list of things to stop buying, I realized not only how much better my family’s health was, but also how much cheaper it was. Over time, I made it even cheaper by earning free Amazon gift cards to pay for my supplies with and by using “waste” such as orange peels to clean my home with.
Recipes for Cleaning with Essential Oils
The 17 homemade cleaner recipes below are the ones I use most often in my home. Yes, I’m certain there are others I use, but I either haven’t made them recently enough to have photos or I’m slacking and their photos are sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to post them here. Either way, the cleaner recipes below are my favorites. Once you give them a try, I’m certain you’ll add them to your own list of things to stop buying.
When you make these homemade cleaners with essential oils, you can use any brand of essential oils you would like. I personally prefer to use Plant Therapy essential oils most of the time. They are cheap, pure essential oil and work amazing in cleaners with essential oils!
