I love Halloween. Second only to Christmas in my mind, it is my favorite holiday. I just love all the spooky treats and how scaring people – in good fun – has become a favorite prank within my own family.

Part of why I love Halloween so much is the spooky creepy treats! Like these white chocolate Twinkie ghosts! They’re spooky in a cute way and super simple to make.

Tips for Making White Chocolate Halloween Ghosts

When we made our own Halloween ghost treats, we used original Twinkies. But with that said, they would be amazing with all varieties including chocolate Twinkies.

Because Twinkies are super soft cake, it’s best if you freeze them for a few minutes before you go on to make them. This will make them much easier for you to work with and give you a much cleaner cut when you go to prepare them.

How to Store White Chocolate Ghost Treats

Once you have finished making your Halloween treats, store them in an airtight food storage container. Due to the nature of Twinkies, they should be eaten no later than 72-hours after they’re made.

If you wait much longer than that, they will most likely be far too stale to enjoy.

  • Melt white chocolate in microwave in 30-second increments. Stir well after each time using a silicone spatula. Once the mixture is smooth and creamy, use the spatula to spoon chocolate over the top of each cake. Be sure to use enough that the chocolate pools at the bottom to create the flowy part of each ghost.
