It’s no secret here at SDF that I adore pretty much anything that is upcycled. Upcycling is such an amazing way to save money that I simply can’t avoid reusing something if I can find a great way to do so. Wine bottles are one of my favorite things to upcycle. Wine bottle crafts are adorable and they’re usually super easy to make! This upcycled wine bottle centerpiece is one of my favorite upcycled craft ideas and one of my favorite wine bottle crafts! It combines two things I love! An adorable centerpiece idea and upcycling!

Do you love upcycled craft ideas? If so, you'll love this! This wine bottle centerpiece is the perfect wine bottle craft for any time of the year!

One of the things that I love about most wine bottle crafts is that unless you’re painting the wine bottle, they usually have a rustic look that fits well into any farmhouse decor theme. My own kitchen is almost always decorated in farmhouse decor and I am working on gathering the things I will need to do the rest of my home in the same decor patterns. I just love how fresh and clean a farmhouse look is. It also reminds me of my hometown and of a time when life was simpler which means I want to surround myself with it.

Wine Bottle Crafts – Upcycled Wine Bottle Centerpiece {Upcycled Craft Ideas}

If this is your first attempt at wine bottle crafts or if you don’t happen to have any empty wine bottles on hand, you can buy empty wine bottles on Etsy pretty cheap. They’re usually around $3.00 per bottle which allows you to keep this craft super cheap! You would likely spend more buying a bottle of wine! The rest of the items needed are usually super cheap too! These wine bottle centerpiece crafts also make amazing gifts! With the holidays coming soon, it would be easy to whip up several of these to use as homemade Christmas gifts! They would be perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas centerpieces! Simply surround them with seasonal greenery or silk autumn leaves and you’re good to go!

You Will Need:

  • Battery operated twinkle lights
  • Empty wine bottle with cork
  • Natural Twine or ribbon

Before you begin, wash your empty wine bottle out and allow it to fully dry. You will be adding electrical wires so your bottle needs to be 100% dry inside. If needed, turn it upside down in your dish strainer and allow it to drain overnight before you begin. You will also need to decide if you would like to leave the label on your wine bottle. If so, once your bottle is dry, you’re ready to proceed. If not, remove the label and wash/dry the outside of the bottle as well. You may need to use a bit of Goo Gone to remove any sticky residue from the bottle.

Once your bottle is dry, feed the battery operated twinkle lights into the bottle making sure that you leave the battery back hanging from the neck of the bottle.

Stretch the battery pack onto the back side of the bottle and tightly wrap the twine or ribbon to secure it onto the neck of the bottle.

Continue wrapping the twine around the neck of the wine bottle and the battery back. Make sure that you leave the on/off switch exposed so that you can easily get to it.

Turn your lights on and set your wine bottle centerpiece up wherever you want! It looks great no matter where it is displayed!
