If you have a child who wets the bed, you know; the struggle is real. This super simple DIY bed wetting balm can help! It’s all-natural, non-toxic and kid safe! Use just before bed and you’ll have dry nights all night long!
Wetting the bed is one of those huge problems that no one talks about. For some kids, it’s a lack of correct potty training. Some kids (or parents) just don’t pick up on it that well at first. For other children, it is a health issue such as an overactive bladder or maybe they sleep too deeply or they have an undeveloped bladder with weak bladder muscles. And for others, it is sadly a psychological issue as bedwetting is often a trauma response.
My daughter Emma had the issue until she was around five years old. For her, it was an embarrassing habit, but her little body slept so deeply that she simply didn’t recognize the signs of “I’ve got to pee” that her body sent her.
On my end, I tried pretty close to everything. I did not want her on a strong medicine at such a young age, so like may other things in my life, I chose the holistic route. We tried homeopathic bedwetting tablets, bed mats with alarms, waking her up every couple of hours and more. In the end, we were both exhausted and still looking at a wet bed and clothes.
Finally, as a last ditch effort, I began looking at essential oils for bedwetting. It was then that I created this DIY bedwetting relief cream. It worked so well that she had stopped wetting the bed within a couple of weeks of when I started using it and never had an accident after.
We used it together with my DIY Lavender sleep balm and she slept like a baby with no issues! Of everything that I tried, this truly is one of my favorite home remedies for bedwetting!
Let’s be honest; bed wetting is an all around embarrassing problem for everyone involved, but especially for the kid involved. But using essential oils that are good for bedwetting and making this DIY bedwetting cream can help to rebuild their confidence once the problem is taken care of. It really is a DIY product that your kids will love and thank you for!
What Essential Oils are Good for Incontinence?
My stop bedwetting cream uses juniper oil, cypress, roman chamomile and lemongrass oils. Combined they create a powerful blend that not only smells amazing, but also helps support your child at night.
Juniper berry oil helps to tone the bladder and is great at supporting the urinary system as a whole. Cypress essential oil takes care of any incontinence and excessive fluid retention issues (i.e. bedwetting). Roman Chamomile essential oil calms and helps to induce sleepiness. Finally, Lemongrass essential oil calms as well as helps to remove bad bacteria from the urinary tract which can help to prevent urinary tract infections (UTI). In short? This bedwetting balm is one of the best home remedies for bedwetting that you’ll find.
As a carrier oil, you can use either jojoba oil or sweet almond oil. I personally prefer jojoba, but you do you. In the end, it won’t matter in the mixture which you use.
