Slow Cooker Apple Cider Recipe

Slow Cooker Apple Cider Recipe

Nothing beats coming home after a brisk walk on a beautiful Fall night to the smells and tastes of fresh apple cider.  I love traditional Apple Cider and love the Fall Festivals that include it but I don’t often have the time or patience to cook and strain fresh apples to make the real thing.  Instead I substitute this quick and fun version that is not identical but a great yummy tasting and smelling fix for those nights when I want something but don’t want to go to a lot of work.  It really is one of those recipes that in many ways I thought was too good to be true but after testing it decided it really is one of my all-time favorite chilly weather beverages.  Not only does it taste wonderful but it also leaves your house smelling wonderful.

You Will Need:

  • 1 Gallon Unsweetened Apple Juice
  • 1 Cup Cinnamon Red Hot Hard Candy {I like traditional red hot candies but I have used fire jolly ranchers as well with equal success}
  • 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon

Pour juice into slow cooker along with candy and cinnamon.  Cook on lowest setting for 2-3 hours.  Serve hot.  May store in empty juice container in refrigerator for up to 1 week and reheat as desired.  Also very tasty served cold.
