  • 3 c all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 c salted butter

    cubed and very cold

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 6 tbsp Ice Cold water

  • 1 large egg slightly beaten

For the Apple Pie:

  • Preheat ovent to 375°F.
  • Peel and core apples
  • Slice peeled apples to medium thickness

For the Pie Crust:

  • Combine flour with 2 tablespoons of white granulated sugar in a medium mixing bowl.

  • Stir to combine.
  • Cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles cornmeal.
  • Once the butter has been cut into the flour, add the water one tablespoon at a time and mix well using a fork.

  • After you’ve added all of the water and have it mixed in well, split the dough ball in half, roll each half out on a well floured surface using your pie plate to measure how big to roll it.

  • Roll the dough that will become the top piece larger than your plate.

For the Apple Pie:

  • Lay bottom piece of crust in pie plate. Trim or fold over any extra.
  • Fill bottom crust with sliced cinnamon covered apples.
  • Pour any remaining water over apples.
  • Lay top piece of crust over the apples. Crimp edges and cut vents if needed.
  • Cover crust edges with foil to prevent burning.
  • Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.
  • Remove foil from edges.
  • Bake another 35 minutes.
  • Serve warm with your choice of side - ice cream or caramel.
