How to Make Holiday Travel with Kids Easier with the Graco Extend 2 Fit 3-in-1 Car Seat

This was a paid program and I was given the Graco Extend 2 Fit 3-in-1 Car Seat in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Traveling around the holidays can be stressful. Packing, loading, and traveling can all be exhausting. It’s time to make holiday travel not just about the destination, but also the journey. I wanted to share some tips for making holiday travel easier on both Mom and kids since unhappy kids usually means unhappy moms. You’ll want to do a few things to help make your holiday traveling easier on both. Planning, games and a comfortable ride will all play into how much fun everyone has on the trip.

Holiday travel is already stressful enough for parents! Check out these tips for making it easy!

Take a look at the tips below to see how you can make your trip easier. I’m positive they will help you and your family enjoy the ride instead of dread it!

Plan as much as possible
You can’t travel anywhere during the holidays and not plan. Planning ahead for which route you will take and which hotel you will stay in. If you have kids, it’s especially wise to plan.

Bring the electronics with you
If you are traveling by yourself or with kids, you need the electronics. I say this is the only time the kids in the family can be on electronics non-stop, as much as they want. They can watch movies, get a little educational time in via an app, and zone out for a little bit.

Take breaks often
When traveling for the holidays, it usually means you will be in the car a while. Take lots of breaks! It’s recommended, if you have kids, that you stop every 2-3 hours. However, leaving at night can also help you to get more travel time in because most kids sleep during that time-period.

Keep your phone fully charged
If you don’t have a phone charger for the car, get one before you head out for holiday travel. This will make your stress level go down a lot. A fully charged battery is helpful because you know you have access to help if you need it.

Bring along the right car seats
I don’t know about you, but I feel better traveling when I know my kids are in the best car seats possible. I have done my research and the Graco Extend 2 Fit 3-in-1 Car Seat is the perfect seat for the job. Here are some reasons you should consider this car seat for your holiday travel and everyday traveling adventures.

Awesome in More Ways Than One
The Graco Extend 2 Fit 3-in-1 Car Seat is an awesome car seat! There are many features that have been added for overall safety but have actually became convenience features. I have been a paramedic for 11 years and fully understand the safety around keeping children rear facing as long as possible. As a mom of 3 small kids each child has been kept rear facing longer than the previous child due the increasing safety standards. Working closely with emergency room doctors we have had conversations about the safety of rear facing seats and a physician even stated; if seats were made for adults to ride rear facing he would.

Plenty of Room
When it comes to holiday travel or everyday travel, it’s important to have plenty of room. I placed my Graco Extend 2 Fit 3-in-1 Car Seat in my mom’s Prius. We often use her car for family outings due to the economy on gas. Another reason I wanted to test this in her car is she has 6 grand kids and only the ability to fit 2 car seats. It is a HUGE safety concern for me having to take apart the straps and re thread them to accommodate the size child being placed in the seat. With the easy height adjust this easily and safely fixes the strap placement with NO unthreading! I placed the seat behind the passenger seat. I did have to scoot the seat up some to extend the leg portion fully. The seat was still comfortable for me though even though I am 5’8″

Perfect for Kids of Multiple Ages
We have a huge range in sizes of kids. My daughter is 3 and easily wears a 6x, she was able to sit in this seat very comfortably. With no unstrapping or unbuckling of the car seat I was able to change it to fit my 18-month old son who is in a size 18-month clothing. For giggles we also attempted my 10-month old nephew. Again I did not have to unbuckle the seat, simply adjust the height and it fixed the level of the straps to fit. I am currently 4 months pregnant and I can tell you this seat will be the one that is now in Grandma’s car from now on; rear facing. I have no fear or worry that she will be able to safely transport everyone from my newborn to my 3-year-old.

I’d love to hear your tips for traveling this holiday season. Do you plan on using the the Graco Extend 2 Fit 3-in-1 Car Seat in your vehicle? Take a look at the video below! I’m sure you’ll love it once you see how many features it has and how easy it is to manage!
