Ready for a fun way to cash in on your love for shopping? ๐๏ธ With these 11 get cash back apps, you’ll never look at shopping the same way again! Discover how you can turn everyday purchases into extra income! ๐ธ
These days going to the grocery store can resemble your favorite horror movie. With retailers and manufacturers raising prices seemingly daily, I think I am pretty safe to say that we’re all feeling the squeeze.
And unfortunately, it isn’t looking like we’re going to see a price drop anytime soon which means we’re all very likely looking for ways to save money when we’re grocery shopping that goes beyond sales ads and the store loyalty program.
Coupons and shopping sales are still valid ways to save money on food. Menu planning and knowing retailer sales cycles are as well.
But there are ways to save money that most people aren’t aware of. Such as scanning your receipts so you can earn cash back on them. There are also websites that will let you click through a link or a browser extension to earn cash as well.
What is a Cash Back App?
A cash back app is exactly what it sounds like. You either scan your receipts or shop through them and the app or website owners will pay you extra cash back for your purchase. The best cash-back apps offer anywhere from a small percentage of your purchase back to whole dollar off rebates.
They do this so they can earn money themselves or for market research.
How do Cash Back Apps Work?
Each one will work differently, but receipt apps will give you items that you need to purchase in order to get the cash rebate back. Once you’ve purchased the item, scan your receipt and possibly the items barcode in app and your rebate will be approved.
For cash back shopping sites, you click through their special link and make your purchase. Once they receive notice that you have done so – 3 to 5 days typically – your account is credited with the reward.
How to Maximize Your Cash Back
Before you begin using these cash back apps, you’ll want to do a couple of things:
- Use a valid email address; preferably your Paypal email so you can receive Paypal payments easier.
- Always click the link in the confirmation email they send you. This confirms that your email is real which is important for receiving gift cards and account notifications.
- Always be sure to check the offer conditions if you’re using a cashback app.
- Only purchase items you actually need. It’s easy to get caught up in the get paid cycle but that is a fast way to go broke.
Doing so will ensure you get the maximum amount of cash back and don’t get stuck spending money on something that you didn’t actually complete the rebate terms for.

Which Receipt App Gives the Most Cash Back?
Honestly, this can be a toss up between Ibotta and Fetch. Both give considerable amounts back depending on what the shoppers purchases are. For instance, my last Fetch scan of my email was over $16.00 plus about $20 in store receipts. My last Ibotta cash out was $40 done over two shopping trips.
Is Ibotta or Fetch Better?
As I said, they’re both pretty on par with each other so I don’t necessarily think one is better than the other. Ibotta is great if you need the products there are rebates for. Fetch is great for the rest of your receipts. However, if you use grocery delivery services that send your receipt to your email, Fetch will scan an ereceipt as well where Ibotta only does account connections and gives your reward points that way.
