Looking for a way to show Dad your appreciation without breaking the bank? Check out these 7 Frugal Ways to Celebrate Father's Day!

Of the many things that Dad taught you, hopefully thriftiness was one of them. Show Dad that his lessons stuck when you celebrate him with these 7 fun and frugal ideas this Father’s Day. Below you will find 7 frugal ways to celebrate Father’s Day and show Dad that he is loved and adored but for less. Here is how you can get started!

Enjoy a family game day – Get out the board games or outdoor games (volleyball, hula hoops, croquet, etc.) and enjoy a family game day. Make use of all of the various games and enjoy a picnic in the process or when your day of fun is complete. This is a great way to get active as a family and let Dad show off his skills.

Have a family cook off – Prepare a feast for Dad to sample when you enjoy a family cook off. Let each member of the family choose a dish to make and then get busy. Let Dad relax at the “judges table” and watch as the meals are being prepared. Then, let him taste test all of the dishes. Of course, all of them will be his favorite!

Have a backyard camp out -Pitch a tent, enjoy a bonfire, and of course get out the s’mores! Treat Dad to a backyard camp out, even if it is just for the day. Enjoy the sprinkler, camp songs, a game of catch, or even a nature walk to add to the experience.

Enjoy a Father’s Day scavenger hunt – Have a Father’s Day scavenger hunt where you search for all of Dad’s favorite things or things that represent him. Some ideas can be his favorite shirt, candy, the remote, his favorite mug, or anything else you can think of. Just make the list, divide the teams, and go!

Hold a family car wash -Get Dad’s car sparkling clean with a family car wash. Get out the buckets and sponges, car vac, air freshener, and polishing wipes. Get Dad’s car looking like new, even if it will only stay that way for a few days!

Seek out local freebies –  Local eateries may be offering Father’s Day freebies or steep discounts. See if any of the eateries in your area are offering freebies for Dad and if so, take advantage of them. This is a great way to enjoy a meal out for less.

Enjoy a dollar movie – Head to the local dollar theatre and treat Dad to a flick of his choice. Or, grab a Red Box movie for just a buck and pair it up with some $1 snacks from the local dollar store. Let everyone get their favorite pillow and blanket and let the fun begin!

See how easy it can be to enjoy a frugal Father’s Day? Give these activities a try and you will enjoy a fun filled day for less.
