Slow Cooker Applesauce Recipe

One of my favorite Fall activities to do with my family is to go to one of our local Apple Orchards and pick apples.  Not only is it a great cheap way to spend a weekend afternoon, but it is also a great way to get inexpensive fruit for snacks, pies and my favorite applesauce.  There is nothing quite like a nice bowl of freshly made applesauce as a snack or my favorite with a dinner of slow cooker pork chops.  Check out this easy Slow Cooker Applesauce recipe and enjoy homemade applesauce year round.

You will need:

Directions:

Dice apples and place them  in slow cooker.

Add spices.

Toss and stir gently to mix with all spices.

Pour 1 cup water over top.

Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 5-6 hours stirring occasionally as desired.

For pureed applesauce, allow to cool then process in blender or food processor until desired texture.

I’m not certain how well this will freeze as I’ve never done it (It never lasts that long!) but we make large batches because it goes so quick! This recipe doubles and triples very well so you can make as much or as little as you want! Enjoy!
