White Chocolate Peppermint Hot Chocolate

When I was a kid, I got in trouble a lot for one very specific thing every winter. I would fix myself a cup of hot chocolate, grab a blanket then I’d lay down over the furnace vent in the living room floor with the blanket creating a tent to soak up the warm. I didn’t get in trouble for the cocoa or the blanket, I got in trouble because I would also crank up the furnace to 90 degrees. LOL, yes, I was a bit of a handful when I was younger. Needless to say, I’ve grown out the blanket and vent habit, but I still absolutely adore a good cup of hot chocolate when its cold.

Peppermint is one of my favorite flavors on just about anything during the winter and let me tell you there’s nothing quite so good as a hot cup of my white chocolate peppermint hot cocoa on a cold day. That’s why I love this easy recipe! It’s awesome for those cold winter days and nights!

Warm and creamy, this peppermint hot chocolate recipe is the perfect winter treat!

When I was a kid, my Mom would fix my hot chocolate for me, but once I became a Mom, I wanted to find recipes that I could teach my Emma to make. She’s always loved cooking with me so I look for recipes that are easy enough for her to help with. This peppermint hot chocolate recipe certainly qualifies! It’s super simple to make and tastes AMAZING! It tastes even better when you pair it with my M&M and Peppermint Fudge recipe!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

This recipe is a white chocolate recipe which means it has a unique taste over most of the hot chocolate recipes that you’ve tried. We love it all winter long, but our favorite time to have it is Christmas Eve. We gather together as a family, open up one present each, the cuddle together in our new Christmas pajamas and watch Christmas movies while drinking this recipe. It’s such a wonderful time together and a hot cup of this is just icing on the cake!

To start, pour the milk milk and white chocolate chips into a medium sized pot and cook on medium/low heat until the chocolate is melted. Make sure that you stir constantly so that neither the milk or the chocolate scorches. Once the chocolate is melted, add the peppermint and vanilla extracts and stir well. Let cook for a few more minutes (2-3 minutes) stirring constantly to help the flavors blend.
