Emergency Preparedness Deals – Week of Oct 22, 2016

If you’re into emergency preparedness, you know how hard it can be to find deals on emergency preparedness supplies. They’re so very important to have, but sometimes? They’re horribly expensive. Because of that cost and the fact that I want you to save as much money as possible while you’re working to prepare your family for whatever may come, we are bringing you our favorite emergency preparedness deals of the week.

Preparing your home and family for emergencies? Make sure you check out this week's emergency preparedness deals!

When shopping, keep in mind that we are not responsible for these deals. They are current at the time of posting. If a deal has an end date that we can see, we will do our best to share it, however, not all deals will show a clear end date. Most of these deals will be temporary so if you want to purchase something and have the money in your family budget, don’t hesitate.

Emergency Preparedness Deals

If you’re looking to save even more money, shopping through Ebates can help you do that. Companies pay Ebates a portion of the sale when you shop through them and in turn, Ebates pays you a bit of cash back. Then, once a quarter, Ebates sends you the cash back that you have earned either by check or to your Paypal account. Not every site we will list deals from will be eligible for Ebates though. Plus, new members receive a free $10.00 gift card of their choice when they sign up for an Ebates account.

Thrive Life Foods Deals

Thrive Life foods has some pretty great prices happening right now on a few items. Right now, a #10 can of Thrive Life mashed potatoes is priced at just $7.09. There are 22 servings in each #10 can which brings your cost to just $0.32 per serving. This is far cheaper than the majority of grocery store cost for potatoes and is an especially great price for freeze dried. Plus, they actually taste amazing. You can’t tell they’re freeze dried and they don’t have that powdery taste that instant potatoes do.

On top of the mashed potato price, the Thrive Life Instant Milk is a really decent price right now too. A #10 can is priced at $19.79 currently which comes out to $0.35 per serving. A gallon of milk at the grocery store typically runs around $0.45-$0.50 per serving for comparison. The Instant Milk bucket price is even lower per serving. At a current price of $130.49 for 437 servings, you would be paying just $0.30 per serving.

If you’re interested in viewing the October 2016 Thrive Life Foods specials, you can see those HERE.

Mosquito and Bug Protection

Mosquito season might be almost over for most of the country, but all that really means is great deals on all of the bug protection stuff. Like this emergency preparedness deal.  Walmart currently has the Coleman 50-Hour Citronella Candle Lantern marked down to only $5.86. It’s normally $15.21. While these aren’t a prep item that you’ll use right now (unless you have no other candles available), they are a prep that is worth picking up. Plus the lantern design makes it much easier to move the candle where you need.

Save 59% off of Sam’s Club Memberships

If you need a new Sam’s Club membership, Groupon is the place to be right now. You can pick up a 1-year membership, $5.00 gift card and a coupon for a free rotisserie chicken for just $25.00. That is a 59% savings off of the total value of the package. I’m not sure how long the deal is valid for though so make sure you hurry.

Garden Seed Deals

Speaking of freeze dried food, Buy Emergency Foods has a fairly decent deal on the Legacy Foods emergency sampler. You’ll get 183 servings for $285.00. That comes out to just $1.56 per serving which isn’t a bad price for pouched emergency foods.  On top of that, they’re offering a free gift with your purchase. The gifts are tiered as you see above so depending on what you were looking to order, it may be worth it once you add in the free gift. Shipping via Fed Ex ground is free on domestic orders.

In addition to the sampler pack, they also have the Legacy Premium garden seeds for a really decent price. You’ll get approx. 23,000 seeds across 15 different vegetable types for $52.00. I’m not going to even bother with the per seed cost because it is far below a penny per seed, but what I can tell you is this. I personally paid for a different seed vault (from a different company) and pay half of this cost for considerably less seed. The Legacy Premium seed vault is a 5 year storage vault and from what I can tell, has good reviews on germination rate.

Lugaboo Loo for a steal

Need a Luggable Loo? Grab one here for just $14.99. This price has dropped 25% in the last few days so you may actually be able to get it cheaper. In any case, $14.99 for the bucket and seat together isn’t a bad price. If you purchased them alone, the seat by itself would run you around $13.00 so you’ll actually save a bit of cash on it if you buy at this price.

Essential Oil Deals

Plant Therapy has several new essential oils and blends that have a value in emergency preparedness. They’re new CandEase Synergy (blend) is meant to help fight issues with Candida bacteria, the culprit of yeast infections. It is priced at $8.95 for a 10ml bottle. In an emergency situations where cleanliness may become an issue, this one is incredibly important. Their new blend, Muchy Stop ($8.95/10ml), has a prep value as well. In a situation where food may be scarce or someone may be used to eating much more often than they need to, it will help them cut the cravings and not want to eat. I actually have Munchy Stop and trust me, you won’t be hungry after just smelling it. For single essential oils, they’ve added quite a few but the two that stood out to me the most are their new Cinnamon Cassia Organic essential oil for only $8.95 and the new Cardamom essential oil priced at $9.95. Cinnamon is great for helping to treat diabetes naturally and Cardamom is sometimes used to help fight depression. Both would be very useful in an emergency situation.

If you’re wondering how Plant Therapy oils are, I use them personally in my own home, in my own health and my on my child. They are pure oils that are not cut with a carrier oil or any additional junk for a fraction of what the more expensive brands cost.

Free Bass Pro Gift Card

Bass Pro has several deals going on that are worth mentioning. First, through December 31, 2016, you will get a $10.00 Bass Pro gift card when you spend $75.00 and use the site to store shipping option. They also have a pretty nice deal on the RedHead Ultra Hunter Side-Zip GORE-TEX Insulated Boots for Men. Normally $149.99, they’re marked down to just $89.97 which is a 60% savings. If you’re feeling like a trip in store, the Plano® Sportsman’s Tote is marked down from $24.99 to $15.00. Finally, they have the RangeMaxx Ammo Can Field Boxes marked down from $9.99 to $6.47. That isn’t a huge savings, but if you need ammo boxes, a deal is a deal.

Ball Blue Book

Believe it or not, you can score a couple of really great deals on Ball’s shopping site, Fresh Preserving. The biggest one being the previous edition of the Ball Blue Book for only $1.99 (Reg $9.95)! Other deals of note are the Ball Secure Grip Hot Jar Handlers for $2.99 (Reg $10.95) and the Ball Culinary Herb 5-blade series for $2.99 (Reg $11.95). Since these are clearance products, you’ll want to hurry on them because once they are out of stock, they’ll be gone.

“Cheap” MRE’s and a Mag Sale

Sportsman’s Guide has a fairly decent price on surplus MRE’s going on right now. You can pick up a pack of 24 US Military Surplus MRE’s for as little as $35.99. This comes out to $1.50 per MRE and for a deal coming from a major store, it’s a fairly good price. Buying MRE’s online can be hard since you never know if you’re getting actual surplus, but buying from a reputable source such as Sportsman’s Guide cuts that risk. Another good one to mention over there is that they are currently having a mag sale. That’s all I’m going to mention since I try to keep that type of stuff off of this blog, but it is worth checking out. You can do that HERE. If you’re not a Sportsman’s Guide Buyer’s club member, you’ll pay more for their items than if you were. They currently have a free 30 day trial that you can check out HERE.
