4 Reasons to Unpack Your Grill

Here in Texas, grilling is a way of life. Almost every home you see has a grill and you can bet that every restaurant has grilled items on the menu. Texas BBQ has cemented it’s place in the heart of every Texan and there is a reason for that; because grilling is awesome! Grilling isn’t only in the heart of Texans though. Did you know that over 80% of “mature” millennials between the ages of 25-33 say that grilling is one of their favorite summer activities?

Have the grill packed up? Unpack it! These 4 Reasons to Unpack Your Grill will have you eating delicious grilled food in no time!

Seeing this figure got me thinking; why should grillin only be limited to when the sun is blazing down? It shouldn’t and Johnsonville agrees that it’s time for people to throw off the “dark period” of winter to single the beginning of something good!

Because of this belief in a new beginning, Johnsonville is sponsoring the 2017 Chicago Polar Plunge and has partnered with former pro linebacker Brian Urlacher to assist Chicago Polar Plunge participants with Johnsonville #FirstBrats of the season so that they can warm up with hot, delicious brats fresh off the Big Taste Grill. The Big Taste Grill is over 60 feet long, 20 feet tall and can cook 2500 brats an hour so there will be plenty to go around! Even better? The Plunge is hosted by and benefits the Special Olympics Chicago which aligns perfectly with the charitable mission of Johnsonville and the Big Taste Grill!

Johnsonville figures that if people are willing to jump into frigid water for their case that they need to be there for them! They also want you to know that it is time to come out from under the blankets and time to toss off the dark of winter and there is good reason to do so!

Grilling saves you time – No one wants to be stuck in the kitchen cooking and grilling allows you to get away from the stove and outdoors. It is quicker at cooking your food too! Especially when you’re cooking something tasty like Johnsonville brats!

Grilling saves you money – Grilling as a whole is much cheaper than using your stove and oven for a couple of reasons. First, you won’t use any paid energy to cook. This means that you won’t have the added power or natural gas costs. Secondly, you won’t heat your home up which will result in lower cooling costs.

Grilling is tastier – Ya’ll? Let’s be real. Grilled food simply tastes better. That smoky flavor that the grill leaves behind is just…well? Delicious!

Grilling fosters family time – In today’s society, it seems as if we spend far less quality time with our family than we should. Grilling, however, fosters that family time! You get the opportunity to chat with your family while dinner is grilling and you generally eat together more often when you grill. This alone makes unpacking the grill from its winter garage haven worth it!
